Kung Fu Panda Wallpapers

These are some backgrounds snapped from the theatrical trailer for Kung Fu Panda.

So far so damn good on the character design and the animation... pffff, man this is so my style it's ridiculous!

I don't know what the official site has, but these are just shots that I think make good desktop backgrounds. All images are at 1280x1024.

for the price of a starbucks

is your career your life, and are you really living?
is your focus always work? is it unforgiving?
do you go home to your job? does job follow you home?
if so you're just a slave, a mindless zombie or drone.

now there are some exceptions, but few and far between.
cuz your life as you call it, makes the next man a king.

he's living with big stacks of that almighty dollar.
making money off your life while you wear the collar.
but listen he's not immune, so don't feel discouraged.
there's one above him too, and he's far from malnourished.

some are free from the chains, but they can't afford to eat.
while the man above the man gets massaged on his feet.

for the price of a starbucks you can feed all these kids.
some war ravaged, some savage, with flies around their lids.

but don't you dare ask the man to make a donation.
cuz he's already made one, for tax preparation.
and they plan to cut taxes, never believe that shit.
every Dead President in your pocket's counterfeit.

It's Been a While

Just a quick note for some exciting news. I have accepted an offer to work at Edge of Reality in Austin!

My wife and kids are packed (somewhat) and ready to start another chapter of our lives in the Texas hill country.

The blog will be updated more frequently once we get settled.

Most of the stuff I have planned to post will be animation related…… some, not so much… stay tuned.

Wolverine

20th Century Fox is preparing to shoot Wolverine in November with Hugh Jackman returning as the title character.

I'm interested to see if they go with some Origins storylines or something like the greatest Wolverine story ever: Weapon X. Probably neither, but this should be interesting.

Gavin Hood please do this right.

Superman has been on my "meh" list for about... my entire life. But, he has his moments. I think I'll pick this up.

Animation Tips from a Dummy #2

Shift - Click - Lift

This tip is to save your carpal bones.

In Maya, when you are panning and zooming with the alt and/or shift keys and the left/middle button on your mouse or pen, you don't have to hold the shift or alt keys down while you pan or zoom. Once you click you can let go of the key(s).

It works with the camera and in the graph editor and in any window view.

I'm going to start posting tips from time to time. These tips aren't your normal *Track your arcs* or *watch your spacing* type of tips. If you want those, read The Illusion of Life and check around on the internet, they're everywhere. I'll post these as they come to me. Take it or leave it. I don't claim to know crap about animation, but I am learning every day. Hope it helps you out. If you have anything to add or you want to call me a dumbass, please feel free to do so in the comments section.
