New Year's Resolution

We are beta testing Animation Mentor's new school and, for real, all I can say is WOW! There are so many things that they have improved. It's fantastic. It took a ton of work by the Animation Mentor Crew to get this thing done and my hat's off to them for a great job.

My favorite part is our new workspace resolution. Here's a link comparing the old and new.

edit: took out the 480x360 image for formatting reasons on my site. Yeah, it's that huge.

Holy Mother of Christmas

I wrote earlier about how the hard drive crashed and I thought I had backed up my Maya files, then checked the CD's and there wasn't anything on them except a few .jpg's.

I was looking at the wrong CD's. I found all of the pictures of Adam, and all of my first 2 terms of AM work.

When we evacuated for Hurricane Rita, I backed up and put the CD's in my suitcase. When we got home from the evacuation I thought I had unpacked everything. My wife had backed up some .jpg's on the same kind of CD's, same color. So I just grabbed those CD's and assumed they were my backups.

As we started to pack last night for our trip to Pittsburgh for Christmas, we found 3 CD's in a suitcase labeled "AM 1", "AM 2", "Adam Pics". My AM work from the first 2 terms and pictures of Adam!

I still don't have the stuff from term 3, but this is way better than nothing.

Merry Christmas!

Break Time

Well, my hard drive cratered. I have a friend of mine looking at it trying to extract files. No luck so far. I thought I had stuff backed up on a couple of cd's, but when I went to view the data it only showed a couple of .jpgs. No .mb files were written. I don't know why or how or what happened, but they are not there.

Luckily, Francis from Animation Mentor was able to get me my last two .mov files. So here's the last work I did on my latest assignment.

The bad thing is, we have to use one of these assignments that we did this term for next term. I was going to use this one. I have a ton of work to do. 400 frames. At least I have 3 weeks to get it done.
