Katrina

What a mess.

Just got a call from my neighbor that has family in New Orleans.

They lost their Home, Business, Cars and every personal belonging they own.

They made it to safer ground prior to the storm hitting.

They are being told they may not get back home for at least 6 months.

Silver lining: they are alive and their kids are safe and everyone is healthy.

They need things though. Things like pants and shirts. Yeah, it's that bad. All they have are the clothes on their back. No home (isn't there anymore), no place to work (isn't there anymore) and no chance of returning *home* any time soon.

Anyway, the reason I am writing this. Whether the media tells you or not, if you have time or money, PEOPLE NEED YOUR HELP!

Wake Up Drug

I could use a couple of these pills right now. Hell, if it works on monkeys it will definitely work on humans right? They don't mention any side effects but at this point I don't care......even if it may cause diarrhea, vomiting, stomach ulcer, bad breath, chicken pox, mumps and premature balding. As long as it makes up for lost sleep, GIVE IT TO ME!

The Beat-sie Booooys

The Beastie Boys, my all time favorite musical act, are giving away A Cappellas for you to download and use for your own personal remixes (along with tempo information for most tracks).

They'll be updating it each week.

Pixar vs. Disney and NEW "Cars" Details

Jim Hill Media has a great article about the spat between Pixar and Disney. Towards the end of the article though, is some very sweet info on the upcoming feature, Cars.

So all I can safely say is ... We're all in for one hell of a treat come June 9, 2006. That -- in spite what you may think of that "Cars" teaser trailer -- rest assured that John Lassetter has done done it again.

Check it.

sorry for the ugly ass template

New rss feeds are down at the bottom of the right sidebar. I will work on the look of this page later, my other template just got out of control. So I doubt anybody has, but if you subscribe to drastic graphics it will no longer have that big image in the title, sorry about that. I am a rss feed newb. I am using Newsgator to get my feeds and it's totally whip ass. It's saving me a ton of surf time. eyeeeeeeeee!

Back, Forth, Back, Forth, Forth, Forth

This idea for a t-shirt popped into my head when I sat at my desk and immediately put my left hand on these keys, even though Maya wasn't even running.

I guess it's like my version of "asdf jkl;" now, my new home keys.

Triple Jumped - Stepped Mode

Well, it took until today for AM to get my animation loaded into my assignment area. Doug already did his crits, so as of now I have a "none" grade even though I had it turned in on time. Sick feeling really. Anyway here's the animation in stepped keys.

How To Ruin a Network

Great article by Jeff Harris on the state of animation on television.

"Most animators are the spiritual children of Tex Avery, the free-spirited anarchist who helped create the Looney Tunes when he was at Warner Bros. and then blossomed into pure anarchy when he moved to MGM. Like Avery, today's animators know what cartoons can do. They know how funny they can be. And they're often trying their best to come up with new and exciting stuff.

This is dangerous."

My Backyard Yesterday

It was so hot outside. The sad thing is that it was not so hot inside. Sad because my electric bill is going to be outrageous.

"Triple Jumped"

Our assignment this week was to create 4 emotion poses (1. Relaxed 2. Alert 3. Engaged 4. Disgusted or Rejected) while telling a story. I had a few ideas, but in the end I think this one read the best. I chose a scene where Stewie is playing checkers. He gets baited into making a move that gets him triple jumped. I actually worked the triple jump into the poses too.

The other part of our assignment was to smooth out the heavy push.
